Curing

Curing considered
It is not possible to have a high quality product without having a controlled curing process.  The REKERS fully automatic transport system is responsible for the curing rack logistics.  The system includes elevator and lowerator, finger/transfer car and the curing racks.

Grow with the task
A finger car with hydraulic forks for different product heights and a dynamic buffer at the elevator or lowerator are available.  Options such as these allow for a greater product range and a greater plant efficiency.

Information about material flow
The fully automatic finger car system is responsible for the curing rack logistics. The intelligent control system informs the finger car when it must be at the elevator or lowerator or the racks to optimize its travel.  The most important instruction is to ensure that there are no delays at the elevator.  The design is based on the site conditions/restrictions: up to 4 boards per storey and up to 28 storeys high is possible, as is the rotation of the finger car in its vertical axis on its transfer car.  An important fact about the REKERS system is that the motor control centers do not travel on the cars and this gives a high degree of reliablity.

Grow with the task
The hydraulic forks on the finger car and dymanic buffer are not always required. But they allow double storey operation for an extended product range with higher products which can result in a dramatic increase in overall plant productivity. The REKERS control system can rearrange the boards in the racks for FIFO operation as well as later remixing the boards so that when they exit the racks the colour blend products are reblend into the packs to obtain a more natural look.

The curing rack system has more to it
To accelerate the curing process or to improve the colour consistency an air circulation system or a temepature/humidity control system can be had.  This is also integrated in the REKERS plant control system.  The equipment is located according to site conditions/restrictions.
